91.1 WTJU 2009 Spring Marathon Fundraiser
Folk Welcome Welcome to the 2009 Folk and Rock Marathon fundraiser. In the Folk department, we've assembled a program designed to widen your horizons and chase your blues away. This year's schedule includes honkytonk, Hawaiian, sitars and guitars, bluegrass, grass jazz, gypsy jazz, acoustic, electric, bird songs, Andrew Bird, Lucinda, Lunasa, Leonard, Van, Dylan, Donovan, and more. Continuing our tradition of programming unfettered by commercial or political constraints, our volunteer announcers have plumbed their considerable personal collections as well as our library of over 50,000 recordings to bring you an astonishing variety of folk music. With your ongoing support, help us keep our commitment to locally produced, globally aware radio, unique in its breadth and bound to surprise you.
Rock Welcome Dear Listeners, Be It Known that from Wednesday April 22 to Monday April 27, the Rock Department will freak out in a moonage daydream of jams, bangers, and nuggets for your delectation, and in support of WTJU, the station that makes it all possible. Your crucial pledge to WTJU doesn't pay for corporate consulting fees or slick marketing campaigns â it sustains the basic operation of a locally-produced community radio station. And, more than warm fuzzies, you can actually get stuff when you pledge, thanks to Marathon premiums donated by generous â and tasteful â local businesses! So tune in 91.1FM - or stream us - and join us for the 2009 Rock Marathon. And thank you for supporting WTJU!
